As the name implies, this type of chart allows gaps to be placed conveniently. This is necessary because sometimes one or more of the entities in comparison, may lack one or more of the attributes. For instance the given graph about fruit consumption clearly leaves out bananas for “Jane” conveniently making it easier to compare other fruits. From this we can see that Jane does not eat Bananas but does eat many of the other fruits on the chart. Businesses can benefit from this type of chart because often at times, it will be a requirement to compare two entities with asymmetric attributes. This chart helps to achieve the same.
